... and hold fast that which is good. Remember that freelance job? Well, it wasn't so good, so I didn't hold on to it and it went away. One hundred and fifty bucks was definitely not enough for what they were asking. I am slapped on the face by a country that is (mostly) animation-illiterate. And the ones that do know their animation principles, are a bunch of elitists who think 3D is the future. It's called a medium, people. You know watercolors, charcoal and oils, right? Mediums! I'd like to see their faces when The Princess and The Frog comes out, when they assured me traditional animation was a thing of the past and that I should stop living in my ancient cave. Elitists suck!

Of course, there are people down here that actually know what they are doing. To them I say: I'm sorry I lack the skills to be in your projects. I really wish I could, but alas, two years of drawing won't do.

I recently discovered Glen Keane is a Christian. I did not know this! I certainly don't wonder why he is so good anymore. Lee showed me this video where he talks about his characters and their relationship with his struggle to be like Christ. It was really enjoyable and it gave me a nice perspective on life overall. I may not talk about this often (or at all, to some) but I go through waves of insecurity in which I ponder if I should be pursuing animation as a career at all. This certainly gave a new light to that topic. And to those of you who might throw offensive comments, please save your religious discussions for people who actually want to argue with you. I don't. Maybe Black Mesa. That was a joke. Haha. Fat chance.

My sleeping schedule has been dancing all over the place lately. Surprisingly enough I have been animating and sketching nonetheless, though I have terrible headaches when I wake up, at 4pm. Sigh. Being unemployed sucks. At least I can knit.
